Matthew Jinkinson

After graduating from Cardiff University, Matthew began his optometric career in independent practice in Abergavenny, where he developed a particular interest in acute eye conditions and their management.
Matthew joined Jinkinson Opticians in 2008, continuing his family’s involvement in the practice, which was originally established by the Jinkinson family. Alongside caring for patients at the practice, Matthew has developed a number of wider clinical and healthcare leadership roles.
He is Chief Clinical and Technical Officer at Referral Management Services Ltd, a healthcare technology provider, and Chair of the Greater Manchester Eye Health Network for NHS Greater Manchester, where he provides clinical advice and contributes to the transformation, quality and development of eye care services across Greater Manchester. He is also Chair of Greater Manchester East Local Optical Committee.
Despite these wider roles, Matthew remains closely involved in the family practice and enjoys providing the personal, independent eye care that has always been at the heart of Jinkinson Opticians.
Natalie Jinkinson
Optometrist & Director
Natalie began her career in eye care as a Dispensing Optician, qualifying in Bradford in 2001. Her experience inspired her to continue her studies and train as an Optometrist at Cardiff University, where she qualified in 2006. She subsequently worked in independent practices in Barry and Abergavenny before moving to Stockport with Matthew and joining Jinkinson Opticians.
Natalie is particularly focused on the clinical care of patients and spends much of her time working within the practice. She has undertaken further postgraduate clinical training and holds the College of Optometrists higher qualification in Independent Prescribing. As part of this training, Natalie gained additional experience within the Ophthalmology Department at Stepping Hill Hospital, working alongside the local NHS hospital eye service.
As an Independent Prescribing Optometrist, Natalie has additional expertise in the assessment and management of a range of eye conditions. This complements the practice’s commitment to providing high-quality clinical eye care alongside the personal service of a family-run independent practice.
Natalie is closely involved in the day-to-day running of Jinkinson Opticians and continue the family’s longstanding commitment to providing independent eye care to the local community.
Flis Kitching
Optical Dispenser
Flis joined Jinkinson Opticians in 2017 and brings many years of experience in the optical industry, including previous work with a designer eyewear company that developed her extensive knowledge of frames, styles and fashions.
Working closely with our patients, Flis helps them choose spectacles that not only look and feel right, but are also well suited to their prescription, lifestyle and individual visual needs. She provides friendly and honest advice on frame selection and the wide range of spectacle lens options available, helping patients understand which choices will work best for them.
With her combination of optical knowledge, experience and understanding of eyewear, Flis enjoys helping each patient find spectacles that provide the right balance of vision, comfort and style.

Jo Arnold
Receptionist
Jo is one of the friendly voices you’ll often hear when you call the practice and a welcoming face when you visit us. She plays an important role in keeping the practice running smoothly, helping patients with appointments, answering queries and making sure they receive the help they need.
Jo’s friendly and helpful approach is an important part of the personal service we aim to provide, helping patients feel welcome and looked after from the moment they contact Jinkinson Opticians.

Suzanne Roney
Receptionist
Suzanne is a key part of our front-of-house team, bringing many years of experience from working within optical practice. Her knowledge and experience mean she understands the different stages of a patient’s journey through the practice and is well placed to help with appointments, queries and the day-to-day support our patients may need.
Friendly and approachable, Suzanne enjoys getting to know our patients and helping to ensure every visit to Jinkinson Opticians is welcoming, organised and as straightforward as possible.
